Hey there! If you’re anything like me, you might currently be searching for ways that you can switch to healthier, more natural products for yourself and your family.
Ever since I became a mom a couple of years ago, I have really started to look at the ingredients in the different foods that my family and I eat, as well as the ingredients in the various products we use.
I have honestly been pretty shocked and disgusted about many of these ingredients after doing a bit of research.
I am definitely not claiming to be an expert on anything here, but if you start to do a little bit of your own research on ingredients in our foods and beauty supplies (and household cleaners, laundry supplies, and soooo much more), you might just find that you are shocked and disgusted, too.
That’s why I am so excited to share with you today what I have been using as an all natural makeup remover, rather than a product with a long list of ingredients that I can’t even pronounce!
A few months ago, I decided to begin using coconut oil as my makeup remover, and I haven’t looked back since.
I love that it is just one ingredient and not a product that is full of harmful chemicals.
I feel much better about putting this on my skin than what I used to use, and my only regret is that I didn’t start using it sooner!
I also love to use coconut oil as a substitute for vegetable oil, but I’ll save that for a post on another day!
Things to Keep in Mind
I personally have not had a problem with acne breakouts as a result of putting this oil on my face, but I am sure that every person will have a different experience.
I do make sure to wipe any excess oil off of my face after I have removed any makeup that I had on.
I like to keep a little jar of coconut oil in my bathroom so that it is readily available when I want to remove my makeup.
My coconut oil is typically solid or partially solid in the jar, but when I wipe a bit on my face, my body temperature heats the oil up enough to change it back to liquid form.
I am gradually working on switching out our products for more natural and healthy alternatives, and I just feel so much better with each baby step!
Comment below with some of your favorite natural substitutes, and let me know how you like the coconut oil as a makeup remover if you decide to try it!
With love,
Julie
